| This picture is based on a recent visit to the beach at St Kilda, near Melbourne in Australia. I felt the naive treatment reflected a feeling that I had about Australia, which was that although on the surface everything about life and living there looked wonderful and prosperous and new, there was an underlying feeling that was uncomfortable. |
They were in the middle of a drought, and were running out of water - but they couldn't drink the sea. Their whole environment was suffering, largely, we assume, because of what man is doing. On the other hand there is still a lot of beauty, but I felt that there was a kind of two-dimensional appreciation of all of these things that didn't go very deep. |
It serves as a reminder that there are many things each of us can do, every single day, to reduce, arrest and reverse global warming. |
